Position Highlights:
- Under the broad direction of the Radiologist, Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor and the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the Radiology Technologist shall perform radiographic examinations on selected portions of the anatomy.
- The technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain diagnostic images as requested by the clinician on patients in the following age groups: adolescence 12-18 years, adults 19-64 years, aging adults 66 and over.
- Must be able to work weekends, varied hours, scheduled and "ON CALL" hours, as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Must demonstrate knowledge of all Radiology principles and imaging techniques as they apply to the daily operation of the department.
- Awareness of radiation safety policies as they relate to the operation of equipment and protection of the patient.
- Understand the process of computer radiology, the quality assurance station, image processing, archiving, and sending images to the PACS stations.
- Must take the initiative to identify and solve problems.
- Gather complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to patients and ensure completion all forms.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Florida license as a Radiographer (CRT) Required.
- ARRT (RT) certification required.
- Current BLS required.
- Competency in all aspects of radiology, patient positioning, exposure factors and radiation protection.
- Must have understanding of anatomy and pathology as to how they affect quality of a procedure.
- Must be able to work weekends, varied hours, scheduled and “On Call” hours.
